Privacy Policy

Bystance is a weekly policy game. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Bystance, how we use it, and what rights you have.

We collect only what we need to run the game:

• Email address — to send you the weekly challenge and notify you of results.
• Your submissions — the responses you write to each challenge.
• Your votes — how you voted on each proposition.
• Basic usage data — anonymised analytics to understand how the product is used (e.g. page views). We do not use invasive tracking.

We do not collect your name, location, or payment information, unless you use the premium version, in which case we collect these details for payment processing purposes. We do not run advertising.

Your data is used solely to operate Bystance:

• Sending the weekly challenge to your inbox
• Aggregating and analysing submissions to produce propositions
• Displaying anonymised results and insights to all players
• Improving the game based on usage patterns

We will never sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

When your submission is selected as a proposition, it may be displayed to other players. Submissions are shown without your name or email address unless you choose to identify yourself in the text of your response or by checking the “reveal my identity” box.

Aggregated insights derived from submissions may be published publicly. These will not be individually attributable to you.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which operates on infrastructure in South East Asia. We rely on Supabase to take reasonable precautions to protect your data from unauthorised access.

We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. Submissions and votes are retained to maintain the integrity of the game record. You can request deletion at any time (see below).

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in any email we send

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify subscribers by email before the changes take effect.
